Proximity to wedding location we attended.
Toilets stopped up after normal/standard use . Hot water ran out by 8:30 in the morning A 50th High School Reunion was hosted at the hotel; room parties extended until 3:00 in the morning with no intervention by Super 8 management

Large room with balcony (2nd flr), clean & comfortable, convenient parking.
Pitiful breakfast. We've had Super8 breakfasts before but never been offered only two choices of cereal & very small muffins to eat. There was no toast or bagels, & breakfast finished at 9:00 am on the dot, which when on holiday and touring is a bit harsh.

We liked our stay at the Super 8 South Lake Tahoe, and have stayed there before and will stay there again. It is very centrally located, so you can go either way around the Lake from the hotel. We plan on going back up to the Super 8 in Tahoe in October of this year, when our grandchildren are on break from school, and bringing them with us along with my son and daughter-in-law.
We did not like seeing cobwebs in the bathroom above the sink, and that every time we turned the light over the sink on, we had to tap it to get it to come on. The rugs need to have a deep cleaning, and the shower leaked into the cracks in the tile floor and ran all the way to the door of the bathroom and got the rug wet in front of the bathroom door. The rest room 137 was pretty clean, but like I stated above the rug really needs to be deep cleaned in that room. We usually try to get either room 131 or 132, but they were both not available this time.

As others have said, this hotel is a little aged. However, I found the facility to be very sufficient for the price point. All upstairs rooms had a balcony with two chairs that had a lovely view of the lawn and pool area. I was able to snap a beautiful picture of a para-sailor through the treetops! Another nice surprise was the fact that the room had a fridge, microwave and iron/ironing board that were not mentioned in the room description.
My only complaint is that we found an empty water bottle under the table upon on our arrival.

We stay at lots of Super 8 motels but this one we would not stay again, I was actually scared to leave my vehicle at the back, it's uninviting. I feel it needs lots of remodeling.

The price was reasonable.
The rooms were outdated and smelled like dust/mold and the bedding was very unconfortable. I didnt even dare to walk barefooted on the carpet. And they said breakfast was between 6:30 and 9, we got there at 7:30 and there was no food..they dont plan according to the number of guests..very dissapointed since my previous stay at motel 8 was ok, my family and I will never stay at motel 8, since for that price i had a few more options and went with motel 8 because of the name, I sure wont make that mistake again!

We had a wedding across the street so it was very convenient not having to drive the car.
This is a general answer that refers to most motel or hotel rooms. Hard to listen to the air conditioner all night when you are not used to one. I still prefer my RV but under these conditions it all worked out well.

The location is great - a close walk to the harbor/beach, restaurants and bars.
The room smelled like chemicals and other unidentifiable odors and there were stains and dirt everywhere including the shower curtains. The staff was friendly but were not at the desk often leading to long waits. Check- in was late, and they forgot to code our key twice forcing us to walk back and forth between the leasing office and the room. Overall it may be fair for the price but the there are definitely better quality Super Eights out there. I can honestly say this was the most disappointing and uncleanly Super Eight Motel I have ever stayed at.

I loved the Hot Tub and Mo's Bar and Grill. They were the only two reasons besides the nice staff that made me stay. I love that you have microwaves and mini-fridges within each room and that most rooms are located close to the lobby area. Each time I have stayed the staff has been wonderful.
This is the second time I have stayed and both times the rooms have been filthy. The walls need to be scrubbed down and backs of doors and dusted thoroghly for cob-webs. The beds and carpets are the only thing clean. The pillows were old and should be replaced and if you have a King size bed you should receive more than 2 flat pillows. Also, we had booked with Booked.net and when we arrived the staff showed no reservation for us and we did not receive any discount over the fact that we had to stay in the handicapped room because it was the only room left with a King bed on the bottom floor because there was no reservation for us. We literally bought 409 spray and cleaned the wall area around the toilet and doors because it was so dirty. The continenal breakfast could've been better- the cereal was stale and maybe you could change up what you have every other day. Although I enjoyed the staff, the rate and the location this will be my last visit. With so many other Hotels to choose form within that area next time I will opt for a cleaner one.

Too expensive for quality.

Great location. Very close to the deck for power boats and the entrance of Gondola. The lawn and pool in the yard are nice.
Old room decoration in the room. Broken curtain. 2nd floor shaggy and looks unsafe.
